Sony-Ericsson Black Diamond

Sony-Ericsson Black Diamond
I’d buy this just for chic appeal. Jaren Goh Design designed the forthcoming Sony-Ericsson Black
Diamond in Fall 2005. It’s “cased in a layer of polycarbonate; the OLED technology illuminates under the skin. . .creating a Borderless Screen effect.”

Collection of Cell Phone Usage Surveys

February 28, 2006

I love cell phones, but for the most part, I dislike cell phone users. Some of these results will make you cringe, and some will make you laugh. Here are a few excerpts:

  • “83 percent of respondents said cell phones have made life easier, besting the Internet in second place at 76 percent”
  • “15 percent of Americans have interrupted sex to answer a cell phone call”
  • “7 percent said they used their backlights to cheer on their favorite band at a concert, replacing the trusty lighter of the past. And 4 percent have used it to light up their face to tell a ghost story.”
  • “38 percent said it was fine to use the cell phone in the bathroom.” ???? And that’s *down* from 62 percent in 2003

Interesting stuff. Read the full article, SFGate.com

I have a Sony-Ericsson s710a. For most people, this phone is nowhere close to mobile enough. It is hefty in my pocket, but the gorgeous screen more than makes up for it. I don’t use cell phones to talk — I use them for mobile data access — so most normal ergonomic standards mean nothing to me anyway.
